happy xmas and hannukah!
Things have been busy busy around our apartment.. cleaning and cooking and scrounging up last minute gifts when certain ones didn't show up. and cooking some more because I got cookbooks for christmas and the massive amounts of food I cooked Xmas day were all eaten! And visiting people and cleaning and painting my dads house. and sewing things for my secret santa (though it isn't due til the end of january- whew!)
This was a bookish sort of Christmas for me, which is always great. and timely since I finally am getting around
to reading these and knocking a few books off my to-read shelf. I got a few new paperbacks, a map book of DC (and no more arguments about ALWAYS going the wrong direction- we also both have compasses now! ;), and another fun book by Melanie Falick:

And some sock yarn (for when I *finally* get around to finishing more of them... soon I swear!). And a nice and soft and warm cashmere sweater. and liquor, of course! No holiday is complete without liquor!
and I got myself a whole bunch of Noro Kureyon, simply because it was on SALE and I just HAD to have it. Why? It's not even that soft! it has questionable VM throughout it. I KNOW THIS! why was I drawn in?! I will make mittens to sell out of a couple of skeins. the rest will make
this. probably minus the front stripey, as I'm not sure it is me... WHY though?! I still have Rogue to make a hood for. and a brooke's farm mohair sweater to finish. and socks. and a tank. and a clapotis. and wristwarmers. WHY am I sitting on my couch knitting with NORO?
