  santa barbara. knitting? spinning?
Not that I need any more fiber, of any sort, but- I'll be out in California for business next week, and I have most of Monday afternoon free. Has anyone been?

This place looks super cute, though Solvang is an hours drive. But- Solvang? Danish village? I *heart* the danish!

In Stitches
looks okay as well, and is right in downtown Santa Barbara. hmmm. I really don't need yarn though... not that I need stuff to spin either! We'll see. Another skein of sock yarn won't kill me!

Spent a few hours dyeing last weekend... the skeins all turned out the same! well, aside from the color moving faster in one of them. I love the orange though! I feel like I could use some orange socks! :)

Must go to Solvang!! Believe it or not there are a whopping three spinning stores in The "So Cal" area and that's the best as far as I've heard. Haven't made it to the other two. It is worth a visit. And the Danish thing, think pastries and cookies. Yum, yum, yum. And Ableskivers, gotta have those. Oh, if you like to gamble, there's a casino down the road a bit from Solvang.

Great happy colors!

Solvang also has some cool bookshops. The beaches in SB are beautiful--have fun!

Beautiful colors, Paula!

Oh, you *must* go to Solvang! Village Spinning and Weaving is my favorite knitting/spinning store in the whole world, and the owners are just wonderful.

Plus, Solvang itself is gorgeous, and Susan's right -- Aebelskivers are not to be missed.

If you want to stay in Santa Barbara, though, BB's Knits (3030 State Street) and In Stitches are both small yarn/knitting shops close to downtown, and both of them are nice, but I think BB's has a much better selection at the moment.

End of random comment. :)
