  disappearing act
Where did my life in the last ten days go?! It's all a blur. I think today is a random sort of day, and won't make any sense.

This is for you, lolly! My building/complex has changed a lot since we moved in three years ago. Some better, some worse. Worse is that doggies (much as I love em!) have stunk up our hallway. And leaks and whatnot have made the entry pretty gross. Better is this sign just stuck up on our front door... yay for renewable energy! Hopefully our rent won't increase insanely (again) this year!

Next up is the new addition to the family. A plying head and monster bobbin! Can hold up to 8 ounces of yarn! (Haven't yet tested it *that* much!) I think this means that I will keep my louet forever, instead of jumping on the lendrum bandwagon. But really, I *heart* my louet!

Then... last weekend we explored a very small bit of Virginia wine country. I'm a Maryland girl at heart, and abhor crossing that river, but, I gotta say, it was quite nice. We went to Windham Winery, in Purcellville. It was going to be the first stop of a few local vineyards, but we actually spent the entire afternoon there! I got a LOT of knitting done, and may have reaked out some friends with my FOUR projects I brought along (one almost done hat, in progress pinwheel, yarn for mitts, yarn for baby hat)..

We had a lovely picnic by this pond.. the people behind us actually had brought a whole portable gas grill and were cooking! We just ate and drank and slept and talked and laughed the day away.

They had this lovely lab, Lucy... she mostly sat under us while we ate, hoping for something more than bread crumbs!

I knit my pinwheel til I ran out of yarn... I need to go back to using these colors to dye, or I won't have enough sock scraps to finish! (Using leftovers from what I sell here... this blanket will someday match someone's socks!)

Hey Paula!!
Thanks for pointing out the wind energy poster! I think a lot of places in our region are catching on, and that is great news. I hope your rent does not go up either - it is possible to be green and cheap at the same time! :)

Lucy Lab is quite the cutie :) She looks a lot like my Bella!
