progress
So it seems we got to the beach just in time! Now we are hardcore in to SWEATER WEATHER! YAY! Maybe I oughta finish a couple of sweater, eh?! I made a lot of progress in the past several days- some at the beach, some not.
- red brook farms cabled mitt: done aside from thumbs. however, cable seems to be too close to the thumb when worn. fuck. they look odd. only once the hand shifts around. maybe the thumb addition will help?

- orange pumpkin hat - baby sized, 70% done already: 75% done?
- superbulky mitts - check! even sewed ends in.
- baby flap hat - ran out of yarn! finished: used a different color for a funky look. whatever!
- superbulky adult hat: was trying to make a cowl, but grossly underestimated size of a persons head. turned into a cabled hat, but one of the rows is wonky near top, so I may redo. This is all about the redos... I ripped this one out at least two times befor casting on right. first was too few stitches, second was twisted. (twisted? I felt so dumb! ;) This was before I got pooped on and gave up. (wtFF? I got pooped on. twice. not ever returning to rehoboth beach without an umbrella. thank god for moms carrying baby wipes and husbands who only take a moment of shrieking to assess the situation and rescue me.) :(
Didn't even consider:
- a scarf. Must knit scarves, no matter how dull!
- mitts. really, can't have enough!
- pinwheel blanket- no work done at all.
I also stopped by Sea Needles in Bethany Beach. This is right near where my friend's family has a beach house that I've been to numerous times. Why didn't I see this before? Anyhow, was vaguely underwhelmed, but got some dpns and trekking sock yarn- blues and purples. yummy.
I've hardly spun this week, actually, and totally need to speed the heck up! I did dig out my gocco last night and made a heck of a lot of cards for upcoming fairs. exciting exciting. Applications aplenty are due and I'm out of town next week some so I need to get cracking!
