  published!
When we got married, my husband teased that *he* couldn't change *his* name because he was published in academia. That for his career, he'd always have to have his name.

Well... shoot. I appear to have gotten published with my maiden name! Heh. If only it were easier to go about changing ones name... I am coming up on month 9 of newlastname and *still* deal with my old name at least biweekly! grrr!

this is from the Stitch 'N Bitch Page-A-Day Calendar 2008! Woot!

YAY! COOL!!

yay!! congrats! how bout you two hyphenate. hehehe just kiddin'

w00t indeed! Yay!

I know a couple that combined their names to make a new one (no hyphen).

I have found the maiden name thing to be helpful in finding out who sells my name to mailing lists. Boo Dean Witter! Eventually the maiden name thing goes away once you've changed it on your social security, that's the one that matters most.

And there's nothin' to say your "professional" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) name has to be the same as your legal name, the bank deposits the checks just the same. Although you might keep a marriage license in your glovebox just in case a clerk gets randomly shirty about it.

Awesome!! Congrats on being published!!

For a second I thought your maiden name was Superbulky. (wink)Congratulations!
