  busy busy
It's been a busy busy weekend.. no end in sight to the knitting and felting (and making of other goodies!) I have the parts of two more bags to add to the heap:

Nevermind the upsidedownness.. too tired to care!

My mom (in addition to buying yet another new car and winning the lottery for a smallish but hefty sum) is the proud new owner of a knitting board. LUCKY!! I'm super jealous, but hope she figures out how to use the board soon so I can check it out. (Driving the new prius would be swell too! ;)

  Ugh.
Had this whole thing written.. shouldn't push the back button. Grrr.

I spent much of the day cutting and marking and sewing a needle holder (the latest possible item for the craft fair).. Just one! the design itself is okay, but takes a long long time. and sewing straight lines. (hard for me, even with a line drawn!) They are cute, but.. just might be easier (and more efficient) to only do the tote bags.

In the meantime, felted a whole load of bags Saturday at Kates.. it's incredibly sad to see them shrink *so much*!! All those hours of stitching. Oh well.

  wooliness
Last week, I came back from the beach to find a great package waiting at my door. For once, the postman didn't leave a note saying he'd redeliver. For once, it worked! (postal service here gets sketchy, apparently just when our guy isn't here, but I have my doubts.) Here it is:

16 1 oz. samples of all different sorts of wool. Just waiting to be spun into something or other. A lot of them are a bit coarse or itchy, but I'm sure I'll find something for them too!

Also, in my attempt to be somewhat organized about the craft fair we might be doing (hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.. keeping my fingers crossed), I'm trying to keep better track of what I'm doing, what kind of yarn, how long it takes, etc... crafty
nevermind that it probably takes me longer to set up a page than it does to knit a hat! my poor wrist has been knitting too much lately, so I figure doing something else is good for a bit. Probably better would be doing things that don't lead to carpal tunnel troubles...

And more for the craft fair (we'd better get accepted or my wallet is going to be sad!) I received an order from jimmy beans wool saturday. containing a bunch of largeish needles and some superfat yarn. Oh- And some candy! so sweet!!

  goals
I'm really hoping to do this craft fair in October, and need to get off my butt and start knitting already! Actually, a lot of the things will be rather heavy yarns, and should go pretty quick. But this craft fair is about 7 weeks away, so I'm starting to worry a bit! I figured a list was in order. (see the top right!) And none of that fancy schmancy percentage bars I keep forgetting to update... no time for that! I mean business!

  domo arigato, mr. roboto
went to the beach this past weekend, for a much needed rest! I spent much of last week planning a surprise party for my guy. Basically, I replenished the liquor cabinet, made TWO marinades plus tons of veggies and meats to skewer, hummus, guacamole, and hid a cake (plus ALL the food) WITHOUT HIM HAVING A CLUE! And, in spite of 3 days notice, a bunch of people showed up. One came on the wrong day, sadly, all the way from baltimore, but at least he tried! Anyhow, that was exhausting, so the beach was great. 75 degrees, non-humid, non sweaty great!

And instead of knitting the three projects I brought along, I finished this little fella on a dish towel:

(from a pattern from jenny hart) Very fun!

And today, my goal is to finish Anouk.. I wove in the rest of the ends, at least. Just have to sew this patch on the front, and attach the side thingies and buttons. not so much, right?! Why is it dragging so much?!?

  to the mystery spin-off gifter...
Thanks!! You rock!! :) It will surely keep me motivated spinning the (:o) POUNDS of fiber I've accumulated!!

  something new
I'm still zooming alng with the spinning (as much zooming spinning with spindles allow, at least)... but I'm getting reacquainted with my sewing machine. I finished this bag (after about 7 months of it sitting in front of me and my computer, every day!) and made another smaller tote:

Also, I'm starting to actually use my handspun. I started this lace scarf last week, and am finially to the point where I don't have to rip out once in a while to fix things!

playing around with fiber- knitting and spinning and dyeing. with a bit of running thrown in. and now home hunting.
