Woolarina
ta-da!
1.5 miles walking to dinner friday, and 15 minutes of running, plus warm up walking puts that at about 1.5 miles... 3 miles this week? I did take metro to some training, and walked to lunch, so that's maybe 2 miles more? I'll say 5. SAD. This week I'll at least get to a track workout, though we're moving, so that might be all...
Anyhow, here are the socks, finished and washed.
Jaywalker, with STR yarn from NYSW 2005.

Sock from
Michele's pattern mostly, koigu yarn.

Handspun sock, yarn my own.
and the exercise.
haha. hi, I am busy busy moving and packing and not sleeping due to coffee and wind storms and craziness.
Just to keep track. Running.
Check. I ran ten minutes straight Saturday with my training group. This sounds lame, right?! Ten MINUTES?! I was doing TEN MILES when I last ran.
But oh! my poor thighs! the ache! I am glad a friend was at running and doing the beginner group... the intermediate group started at *twenty* minutes. Heh.
Still, I remember when I for real first started running... I couldn't run 30 seconds! So ten minutes without even keeling over is certainly something good. I'll be back to 10K's by the fall!
Also, not sure it counts but we did walk to happy hour friday... that's a good mile!
woolarina sightings!
We're happy to announce that more of our yarn is going out into the world... the latest shop to carry Woolarina is
Wool Girl! Check them out!! They have loads of great stuff from small fiber artists like us!
Also, weekend after sheep and wool I'll be in Baltimore with yarn and some new stuff! I'm putting together some pretty fun kits, so come check it out and see some hometown indie crafting!
SquidFire's 2007 Spring Art Mart in Baltimore - Mount Vernon Square Park, Saturday May 12th from 11-7 pm!
socks machine!

Actually, that photo is of my pedicure from a couple weeks ago. Mmmmm spa.
Still... a couple weeks ago I finished THREE pairs of socks! Jaywalkers needing matching toes, these shown here, and some handspun yummy socks. THREE! No idea what hit me!
Unfortunately the green ones (above) are sorta too big around. Oops. The handspun are lovely. I learned that I like short row heels better than afterthought heels. Whatever.
-----------
So! Are *you* going to Maryland Sheep and Wool?! I sure as heck am! I'll be leaving the homestead cleaning and setting up for a day or two to my husband! Yay sheep! Yay wool!
The good/bad part of it is that my wool is packed away, so I have no clue what I have/don't have. Hrm. Suppose I'll set a limit on myself though! ;)
running, but maybe not agogo
So after a winter wasted getting flabby, I'm trying to get back outside again! While I'm not sure I'm up to
the group, I'll for sure try to get 100+ miles on my own in three months time.
My
running club has a running program for a 5k starting up again next week.. I'll be doing this for two runs a week, as well as (hopefully) one run on my own. I hope to continue with the yoga, assuming the budget allows it - I really noticed the difference last year running the 10K and having core strength, so I think it'll help!
Anyhow, while not running, we went on a three mile walk around our
neighborhood. We'll be moving a whole mile away soon, so I feel like I need to be taking advantage of the area as much as possible now! (Not sure how often we'll be walking up the giant hill to get to the downtown from the new place! ;) Though we do intend to buy a rolly cart to get groceries, I think we might shift to shopping at the organic market right there, or stopping off on the way home from work.
