Woolarina
hemp yarn
After a flurry of knitting for the
crafty bastards application, I am finally knitting for me me me! Haha, um.. again. Still, a girl deserves a shell in this heat, right?!
I am working on
this pattern in sprout (I think) that I got from Stitches last fall. I only did the bottom edge and about an inch in the last 3 days.. this yarn HURTS MY FINGERS! But the FO sample they had was lovely, so I will stick it out for a bit. I think the straight knitting part will be easier on my fingertips - the start had a lot of psso's!

And part of last weekend's photoshoot:
hoo-ray!
Last night we headed out to Wolf Trap to see
Pink Martini! They rocked, as always. This is the third time we've seen them.. and the biggest crowd I think! It seems like the venues get older and older. Last time was Lisner auditorium, and part of an NPR/WAMU fundraiser I think, so it was an "NPR crowd".... this time was sort of an oldish crowd, though there were lots of young people. phew! Still, the best show ever was at the 9:30 club where you could boogie a bit. Ah well. I still heart them.
I have been knitting hats and wristwarmers like mad... Crafty Bastards applications are due soon and I need new stuff to sell! Eep!! Here are a couple I did last weekend.

phillie!
Philadelphia is always fun. Art Star was loads of fun, in spite of the crazy high temperatures the first day (and the crazy strong winds!) and also the rain drenching us the second day. Aiaiai.
We fit two booths worth of stuff into my little old civic. That part amazed me! Take that world! Who needs an SUV or minivan!? Granted, the booth was a little light, but still, the car rocks! :)
Traffic was a little slow, so I got in a whole bunch of drop spindling... I think I spun more on the spindle than I have on the wheel in a couple of months! I burned through a few ounces of BFL at least. Mmmm.
