Accommodations
We recommend staying close to downtown Silver Spring if you are planning on getting a hotel. Unless you plan on driving further out, it's not really necessary to rent a car. There's tons to see in Washington, DC that is Metro accessible, and our blocked rooms will be within walking distance (about 3 blocks) of the Silver Spring Metro. We've found that quality hotels further out of the city are almost as expensive as these, with the added bonus of having to drive to get anywhere!
If you'd prefer to stay further out, please let us know- we're happy to check out other lodging for you!
| Silver Spring (Downtown), Maryland (accessible via metro) | Crown Plaza - Crowne Plaza Washington DC- Silver Spring is located 0.2 miles from the metro station, and has a shuttle that can drive you within 3 miles of the hotel. We've block a bunch of rooms here (some with single king sized beds and some with two double beds) for $119 a night. Please
Make hotel reservations if you plan on staying here by May 9th to receive
the guaranteed discounted price! Tell them you are with the Simon-Pruessner Wedding.

| Washington, D.C.(accessible via metro): | If you'd like
to stay downtown, any area on the red line is good. Dupont Circle and
Adams Morgan have a good nightlife, if that is your thing!
|
| Suburbs (will need a car or other transportation): | Bethesda, MD
is about a 10-15 minute drive (during non-rush hour!) and has a few hotels
with better rates on weekends. It's also near a red-line metro stop,
though it is on the other side of the line (you'd have to travel ALL the
way through DC to get here!). Buses are more direct to Silver Spring, but
Bethesda is probably easier if you plan to have a car.

| West Laurel is
about a 20 minute drive from Silver Spring, and is just off I-95. Paula's
dad lives practically across the street from this holiday
inn.
